Found work

Its been a while since I last wrote anything on here. All the organisation for the end of year show at university, preparing work, getting things prepared, graduation, kind of overtook everything else....and then the fun bit after all that, looking for a job. Graduation was great, spent the day looking like an extra from Harry Potter, fun times, lol. But seriously, it was good to relax and have fun. I had doubts in the back of my mind about job hunting, so many other graduates doing exactly what I was going to do. I was bang on, nearly every day, applying for jobs, online, ringing up agencies, while at the same time sorting out stuff with the job centre, who I now consider absolutely useless, and unhelpful. And after 2 weeks, to my amazement I had 2 interviews lined up in a week, and the second one then rang back after 1 and a half weeks, telling me I had the job. It felt brilliant to hear them words, and they even told me that its starting off part time, and the after a trial period, I would then be considered perhaps for a , permanent position. Experience is essential for me, I have my foot in the door and thats all I wanted for starters. The company are a printing shop, which is run by Printing.com, and I work as a junior designer there. In my first month, I have designed templates for online, taken orders for clients that required printing, designed for clients, logo's, flyers, compliment slips, business cards, brochures and lots more. There is never a time where I do nothing, there's always stuff to do, and the days fly and I enjoy it, as it involves doing something I like. I even stay sometimes past my allocated hours to finish jobs, but I just enjoy working on designs, and my boss don't seem to mind, lol. The people that work there are a laugh, and the other designer is experienced and has shown me many new things, that have helped when dealing with difficult clients, and producing work. So my advice to those looking or soon will be looking for work in this industry, be persistent, because the opportunities are out there. So overall, its been good so far, and I will try to get together some work to put up that I have done so far at this company, off there huge database of client work (only the good work, as some clients give their own designs for us to print, we don't keep those, lol) .
